Fan Dancer
Last night I went to a open arts night and this piece (and all my pieces) were a big hit. It was this coffee shop that was open for people to show their art of all kinds; including visual, poetry and music. I admired peoples bravery and it inspired me when I went up on stage to talk about my work. I realized later how not to long ago that would have been impossible for me because I lacked the confidence in myself and my work that I have now. I ended up making some great contacts, gave out some cards and this church group is interested in having my work shown in their church. I left the cafe beaming and giddy. I will have to see what comes out of this.
It looks like I may have another two portrait commissions coming in so I need to really focus on getting this current portrait done. I have to push past the hesitation and just go for it! It will work out. I have done this many times before and I have a talent for it. That is pretty much what today is all about. I would like to have it printed by the end of the week. To do that I need to work a lot harder on this. In my defense I had a very busy weekend and spent little time at home.

What wonderful news, Marissa. I think, as artists, too often we are isolated in our studio and lose contact with our public. Your work is wonderful and you deserve to hear a few 'oohs' and 'ahs'.
