I wish blogger had an Iphone app. Flickr too please! I have my Facebook, Twitter, a Journal and a fantastic diet log.

I'm totally addicted to apps on my new Iphone so these are some serious holes. Oh well, at least GoogleReader has a streamlined page for the Iphone so I can keep up reading. More like catch up! I miss my blogging and blog reading days. Just time isn't what it used to be for me.

Final Days

Of my Buy one Get One sale. On Saturday I am having an Open House in my studio in honor of Spring cleaning and will be shutting my shop down for the day. This might be the last chance for certain pieces. This woodblock print is just one of nearly sixty pieces that I have for sale now.

We enjoyed our Easter holiday with the family, but I think in the future we are going to ask them to visit a month or two later so they can enjoy good weather. They aren't religious so I don't see what the big deal about being here on Easter is. None of them joined us at church. Which is fine, but the weather will be so much nicer in May and early June.

Jon and I are making plans of our own for a nice little trip. We are finally going to make it to NYC in mid May. We got back into contact with some old friends and they invited us to stay with them in their spacious Brooklyn apartment. It will be nice to see them and other. I hope to make it to Etsy labs once, or at least see Anda from Etsy. I'm dying to meet her daughter!

The collage a day for a week went so well that I am doing it again, but with less restrictions. I just need to do some art daily. Yesterday it was a collage, today I'm not sure. I have a woodblock drawn on and ready to carve. It is quite small, but that is a good place to start.

Hope everybody has a great Wednesday. I miss the old days of blogging and reading blogs daily. I miss everybody.

Onward!

Square Canvas Collages

Here they are! All of my six inch square collages. And I am quite proud of all of them. But I am officially out of all my canvas panels. I have one 8"x8" gallery stretched canvas and I had better make it good as those aren't cheap. If I get into using stretched canvas I am going to start doing it myself. I did it in art school, even high school all the time. Even going as far as making my own stretcher bars. That part I won't be doing.

The top right collage may be my favorite having added a touch or a drawing from my sketchbook in the upper righthand corner. I like how it ties in with the pattern in her shirt. I think without it the piece just wouldn't be the same. That gives it balance. Whenever I am making anything balance is very high on my mind. It is delicate and easy to throw off if one isn't thoughtful. But at the same time I want to be spontaneous.

Right now about half of them are in my shop with the others coming shortly. The mixed-media ACEOs are with all my other ACEOs. Making sections that make sense is difficult!

I need to shower, run some errands and go to the doctor today. At least the weather is nice. Blee and I enjoyed taking the dog for a long walk yesterday using our new Ergo baby carrier. It is great and will be even better for back carry, but I am getting a bit impatient waiting for my mei tai. The company says it takes three to three and a half weeks to make but this is really pushing it.
