Not Good

nice day for a walk

Other than some really poorly timed stupid family drama we are fine.

But our good friend is far from fine and it is seeping into our lives. It is really hard to focus on making art much less trying to sell it when your friend and neighbor keeps getting more and more bad news about his health. The cancer has spread to part of his abdominal cavity and one lung. I feel sick thinking about what him and his family must be going through somehow. Now my mom beat a cancer where the prognosis of living past two years post op was around 12% and lived for over sixteen years. That is what I keep telling myself. And he has even more to live for and a much stronger support system. Him and his wife are probably the best people I know in terms of goodness. Certainly better than I am. This just isn't right.

I found out the details of the day after this walk. The weather was perfect, the flowers are starting to peek out, the perfect day. I knew things were bad but not this bad. I had a friend over and we got lunch at this local place that I have fallen in love with. Not being alone with blee helped me cope. We didn't talk about it much but just having a friend around was good for me. I managed to do a bit of papercutting and that is about it.

People should be nicer to each other.

I just want my friend to be okay. F!

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend.

& yes, people should be nice to each other. It's not that difficult & so much easier than the alternative...

This is such a hard thing to see, when you are fond of someone..it really hurts. But you just never know what can happen..keep thinking positive and enjoy every moment you can..You are so right, we should be nice to each other..what a world this would be.

~You're right. People should be nice. I've been having to face a little In-law drama myself. Not fun.
~Your little Blee is the cutest thing! It's sweet to see her so content and happy on her walk. :)

I have watched both my sister and my father battle cancer. It is an emotional roller coaster, but things can turn around, and miracles happen everyday. Many good and loving wishes for your dear friend and for you, too.

This combined with the family BS really has me in a sour mood.

I'm going to try and be nicer to my husband and reconnect with my friends.

But I have no room for toxic relationships.

It's so sad when you try to put yourself in their shoes...what they must be feeling. I believe in the power of positive thoughts. I'm sending some to you.

I've been blogging about friends leaving because of my cancer diagnosis. It's good to see someone sticking by their friend. I know it's tough but he is the same person with his cancer as he was before.

I also wish the world was kinder. It seems some people have a problem with empathy and like to kick people when they are down.

I wish you strength in dealing with all this.

best wishes to your friend. my mother is a cancer survivor. cancer is beastly--the treatment is beastly--those who face it have to have a lot of inner strength. Good luck to him--his family and his friends.

Thanks. I can somewhat understand why friends would have a hard time dealing with a friend getting cancer. At first. Right now I am at a loss about what to do. But I am trying. I did a pop by today but nobody was home.

My husband (& father of 3 young girls) just finished chemo w/ a fairly good prognosis. I'm not religious but I do feel there is a reason. It is our smack in the face that life can be shortened and that we spend time on too many trivial matters. Be present. Feel. Love. Laugh. Make sure that everyone you love can feel it. If you/we don't learn from this, your friend's struggle is just a struggle. Life is a gift, use it.
