Help me!

Help a girl out and please email me your email address so I can invite you to join Art Fire for $7 a month. If I refer seven verified accounts I get mine upgraded to free for life. If you are interested in the site please contact me with your email. It is a very promising new site and even 7$ a month is a fantastic deal. I joined Etsy when it was around the same age that ArtFire is now and I think I know a good site when I see it! Art Fire has a chance to really compete with Etsy, but only if us artists and artisans join. They are dedicated to bringing us buyers and not just leaving it up to us like Etsy does. And it could really use some more printmakers!

Thanks for the comment at my blog, wanted to check yours out aswell.

I find it very hard to sell my photography, and I'm a big fan of Etsy. It's all about trying to market yourself, and it's a pretty hard thing it seems. Art Fire looks very similar to Etsy, I don't know if I'd want to use both at the same time though.

I liked your blog, somebody linked it to me and I read a few entries.

Art Fire is in direct response to the problems of Etsy and I think it is small now but has serious potential and I would keep an eye out on it.

My sales on Etsy have been steadily declining after a high about two and a half years ago. This economy doesn't make it any easier. It is rough, and selling photography is rougher.

I still use and enjoy Etsy but I am done putting my eggs in one basket you know?

Thanks for the comment I hope you stick around.

Hey Marissa, I'm seriously considering signing up for Art Fire. If I decide to you'll be the first to know.

I don't get you and other artists who expect a site to make you sales and drive business your way. That's your job! If you have lost sales, perhaps you should take responsibility and re-evaluate your work.

If you were really serious about your art, you would either have gallery representation or have your OWN online store.

Excuse me Annie but I work to get sales and I take responsibility for when I don't work hard enough. But the Etsy search is convoluted and I know this as a buyer. But I never have expected them to make me sales and I have never complained very vocally.

I just wanted people for referrals for an interesting new site. That is all.

You are just rude and your comments were uncalled for. Get a life you snob.

That is amazing that someone can throw out advise like that. And throw out is what you should do with her "advise"!

I know the time you put into developing your shop. I was there 2 years ago. We as artists have some responsibility, but there is responsibility on the venue to make things easier for the viewers we send there.

After 2-3 years there are some problems that should be solved by now.

Ignore her!!

Yeah, Marissa! Get all serious about your artwork, already. Quit having the most rewarding job as a mother & become what you should really be, a represented artist who has to give 40% to the gallery & 10% to an agent! Yesireee, that's the only way to do it!

I love that that comment is essentially anonymous, don't you? Let it roll, m.
I shouldn't expect Etsy to bring me sales. But I shouldn't expect them to take them away/keep them from me either. Search has been bad from jump.

I'd take a referral, but I'm already signed up.
